The past is a dangerous place… #DeepestWounds #Review @nholten40 @StridentPublish @GoJaBrown @annecater

Oh yeah! ?? Today is my stop on Gordon Brown’s DEEPEST WOUNDS blog tour! Huge thanks to Anne Cater, the author and Strident Publishing for inviting me on the tour and providing me with an arc! A bit about the book and the author though before I share my review!

About the Book

The past is a dangerous place. Craig McIntyre s mere presence removes people s inhibitions and turns their darkest thoughts into actions. As Craig McIntyre tries to escape bounty hunters from the Dark Web, he discovers that his details are linked to a clandestine government project. Might it hold answers to his past as well as dangers for the present? Back on the run in North America, McIntyre hooks up with some unlikely allies. But can he trust them any more than those who want to use him to shape the future…and to further their personal ambitions? Have those behind Factor really given up on their pursuit of him? Or is McIntyre being reeled in with some politically toxic bait? McIntyre is the key to an explosive secret that could change mankind forever.

As soon as I read Darkest Thoughts, the first book in the Craig McIntyre series, I knew I needed more so I was thrilled to be invited on this tour! Read my review of Darkest Thoughts HERE

From the USA, to Canada, and Scotland too, the reader is taken on one hell of a ride with genetic engineering, super human powers, loss, guilt, questions & answers, a search for the truth, anger, and payback are just a few of the underlying themes you come across in this kickass novel!

Have you ever watched that show, Misfits (which I LOVED by the way) where these young adults on Community Service had these super human powers? Well this book reminded me of that, except the powers in this novel are weapons of mass destruction! ? BOOM! ? This was a high concept action thriller that packed a gut-wrenching punch – a page-turner at it’s finest! It was perfectly paced, with awesome and unique characters and an intriguing premise – what is not to love!? Easily read as a stand-alone, this cracking trilogy has left was wanting even more!

Character-wise, I was floored! My favourite being the main character, Craig McIntyre. He wants to find those responsible for his powers to find out exactly what has happened to him. With anger/stress being the trigger …beware of the BLUE. *shivers* This character absolutely fascinates me! A total mess, but also all together, clever, cunning, determined and borderline psychotic…I have to say, I adore him!! I want to talk about a few of the other characters, but I actually think they are the type of characters that you draw from (if that makes sense) so I don’t want to ruin that experience by forcing my perception on other readers. You’ll see what I mean!

Would I recommend this book? Ab-so-friggin-lutely!! Intense, dark, and oh-so-bloody thrilling – this is a unique, twisted, action-packed series you won’t want to miss out on! Follow the rest of the tour here:
