Bloody Scotland – A Booklover’s Dream

It has been a week since I returned from Stirling, where I attended my FIRST EVER Bloody Scotland! OMFG peeps!  This was a #BookloversDream!

My first night there, I bumped into a familiar face: Graham Smith (was I stalking him and make-believing I was his unoffical PA? ….maybe just a little bit!) But he was kind enough to show me around and introduce me to some pretty awesome peeps!  I finally, after numerous sightings, got the chance to meet AMANDA JENNINGS!  Though, this time….I did not even think to take any pics!  In fact, this first night, I was in so much shock and overly excited, the pictures were limited….

I ran into my #Twinnie, Sharon Bairden and finally had the chance to meet Gordon McGhie!  Gordon was being the #KnightInShiningArmour and rescued Liz Barnsley and crew after a harrowing train journey.  What a guy!!

I attended Chris Brookmyre & Mark Billingham’s Panel and it was freakin’ awesome!  I laughed so much, I nearly wet myself!  The evening then carried on with Craig Robertson‘s #Murderabilia Launch party – FREE BOOZE!!  I also shmoozed and met a few awesome author’s, including but not limited to:  DOUGLAS SKELTON!!  EEEEEEEEK!

Day 2 saw me more camera saavy and I was shooting the day away!  It started at Alan Jones‘ pop up #BloqLaunch and carried on from there! After chatting with Alan for over a year on social media, he finally came out and his face is now plastered everywhere I look!  Easy tiger! Seriously though – #Twinnie and I had the best time with Mr Jones – he is actually a pretty nice guy!  ??

Author Stalking and Alcohol Consumption were the main activities of the day! I attended a panel, participated in a live chat thanks to Alison Taylor Baillie and  I finally had the opporchancity to meet the author of the brilliant #Lennox series: Craig Russell!  OMFG he is amazing!  Huge thanks to Graham Smith for that! My bestie, Michael J Malone, also had a fab pop up book launch…so of course I was there to get my signed copy of #ASuitableLie! And my homie, Howard Linskey, was there!  Such a fab guy!   Here are a few other awesome peeps I managed to stalk….erm…meet, I mean meet at Michael’s launch and throughout the day!

The final day was spent nursing the mother of all hang-overs and a fantastic panel hosted by Craig Sisterton.  I know I have missed out loads, but it was so overwhelming to be in such a brilliant environment with like-minded bookish-folk….I am still buzzing from the experience!  I chatted briefly with Eva Dolan & Gordon Brown.  And how could I forget!  Chris Brookmyre became *Winner of the 2016 Crime Novel of the Year at Bloody Scotland* !!
