Retribution A Whitney Steel Novel

Synopsis: THE WAR HAS JUST BEGUN…

Once the top leader of the Sur del Calle cartel, Colombia’s largest drug trafficking organization, Pablo Sanchez has declared revenge against Blake Barnett, the FBI agent who’d killed his twin brother over a decade ago.

After one failed attempt forced him to flee the United States, Pablo has a bold new plan and he’s even more determined to kill Blake and his fianceée, Whitney Steel.

From Las Vegas to the militant infected jungles of Bogota, Blake has no choice but to risk his life and infiltrate the cartel’s inner world and eliminate the ruthless drug lord.

But the price of failure is higher than ever as he’s forced to use the woman he loves as a pawn in a deadly game—where the events of the past and present collide.

My Review:
I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.  I really enjoyed this book. It is certainly action-packed, full of suspense, fast-paced and with a good twist at the end. You have a combination of a large Columbian drug cartel, the FBI, a Journalist and a death row inmate all linked together by their past. Revenge is on the cards and in the main, I just did not know what would happen next as I turned each page.

I particularly enjoyed the characters in this book. Pablo Sanchez–the revenge seeker, loves his cocaine and women…though he treats them badly…an all round nasty piece of work.

Nathan Shaw– on death row in the start of the book for his part in killing FBI Agent-turned Security expert Blake Barnett’s sister Claire…Claire is interesting within herself in terms of the work she did…but you find out about all that when you meet Angel. There is a great twist with Nathan near the end as well but I will not spoil it.

Blake Barnett has a bounty on his head as he tries to save/rescue his beloved fianceé Whitney Steel. And Whitney…she is a lethal weapon within herself!!

The storyline was good and kept me interested throughout. There were some fairly predictable parts, but the author wrote the book in such a way that this did not lessen the storyline at all. Love, revenge, murder and mayhem….a recipe for a good book indeed!

I was pleased to see there will be a third book in this series, so will be getting my copy of Book 1 to read while I wait. Definitely recommend this book
