5 Unhinged Thrillers You Need on Your TBR — Dark, Twisted & Completely Addictive! #bookrecommendations #thrillerbooks

I don’t know about you, but if there’s one thing I live for, it’s a thriller that grabs me by the throat, whispers something wildly inappropriate in my ear, and refuses to let go until I’ve questioned my sanity and all my life choices. These five? Holy friggin shizzle… Dark. Unhinged. Deliciously deranged. I am actually shaking my head as I type this because seriously…WTAF!?

🤯

In no particular order, here are 5 thrillers I think you should be reading ASAP…

The Truth About Ruby Cooper by Liz Nugent

Liz Nugent is the queen of elegant, character-driven chaos and Ruby Cooper might be her most chilling creation yet. The slow unravelling of who Ruby really is had me flipping pages like my life depended on it. Creepy, clever, compulsive. Honestly, I was screaming at this book and just like Strange Sally Diamond, I don’t think I will ever forget Ruby.  Absolutely phenomenal!

All The Little Houses by May Cobb

Small town suburbia has never felt so intoxicating. May Cobb takes the seemingly ordinary and absolutely drenches it in paranoia, secrets, and complete and utter madness. Think mean girls and their mean moms… but make it even more unhinged. A juicy, voyeuristic look into the darkness behind closed doors. The characters were just diabolical and I loved every single one of them.  If you’ve watched The Hunting Wives, you’ll know EXACTLY what I mean. MESSED UP!

Esther Is Now Following You by Tanya Sweeney

This one got under my skin in the best possible way. A razor-sharp look at obsession in the digital age, the kind of thriller that makes you rethink every follow request you’ve ever accepted and those secret Facebook groups you want to infiltrate. Smart, eerie, unsettlingly plausible. I mean, I am not even sure it was a thriller but it was definitely disturbing and covered some topics that really show how certain things can (trauma, grief, even boredom…lol) can really f*ck you up.

One in Four by Lucinda Berry

Lucinda Berry taps straight into the psychology of trauma and denial, delivering a domestic thriller that punched me right in the gut. Raw, emotionally charged, and horrifyingly real. You’ll question every character… and still get blindsided. It was the first book I read by this author (despite having a few collecting dust on my kindle – shame!) but I will be scrolling and bumping the others for sure!

Speak of the Devil by Rose Wilding

Seven women. One dead man. And every single one of them had a reason to want him gone. Rose Wilding crafts a tight, atmospheric mystery dripping with rage, grief, and dark female solidarity. Deliciously sinister. I read this a couple of years ago and can’t stop recommending it!

Final Thoughts:

If you love thrillers that push boundaries, mess with your head, and leave you completely unsettled, these belong at the very top of your reading list.

Let me know which one(s) you’ve read or if I’ve convinced you to check out any of them in the comments… or even better, what other unhinged reads you think I need to add to my never-ending TBR!
