These three revenge thrillers are all different in style, but they certainly pack a punch. If it’s payback you’re after, these all deliver – but I’m not your mommy so check your trigger warnings because they are DARK!
🤯 O-M-G 🤯 What 👏🏻 a 👏🏻 story! When Sally Killed Harry by Lucy Roth was a revenge thriller that had me wringing my hands together while replacing names with people I knew and laughing fiendishly as I did it! Is that bad? 😉 Incredibly pacy, funny, oh-so- dark, devious and dare I say, relatable… 😉 Who hasn’t thought about getting back at someone who’s hurt you, right? I loved everything about it! Sally takes those normal feelings of payback to the next level and I was 100% invested. Harry is the kinda guy you want to see get everything coming to and more. And the group of woman with Sally are examples of friendship and loyalty taken to the extreme. Yes! 🙌🏻 If you loved Baby Reindeer or The Tindler Swindler, this book is a must read!
Themes include: revenge, betrayal, secrets, friendships, trauma, domestic abuse
Stieg Larsson’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is an unapologetically dark and deeply twisted revenge thriller that plunges into the gritty underbelly of human nature. With a razor-sharp narrative, Larsson introduces us to Lisbeth Salander—one of the most fascinating and complex protagonists I’ve come across —and Mikael Blomkvist, a determined journalist unafraid to peel back the layers of a decades-old mystery. What starts as a simple investigation spirals into a chilling tale of corruption, deceit, and deeply buried secrets.
This book is raw, gritty, and emotionally intense. The twists are relentless, and the themes unsettlingly real. Larsson pulls no punches as he drags you through the darkness, delivering shock after shock without ever letting you catch your breath. If you’re drawn to thrillers that challenge the boundaries of the genre, this is an absolute must-read. A gripping and unforgettable novel – I loved the whole series!
