Set mainly in Dorset, The Other Girlfriend touches on a troubled past, manipulation, vulnerability and friendships. Secrets, lies, guilt and jealousy also play a role and when an unexpected visitor knocks on Beth’s door… her newly created life gets turned upside down.
My curiosity was instantly piqued by the opening. The dual timeline worked well and flowed smoothly. I had such an ominous feeling of uncertainty as I turned the pages. It was tense, engrossing and twisty! If you enjoy thrillers that have you guessing who to trust and have you constantly on edge, add this #badboy to your TBR now!
Set in a few locations, the main being Parkwood Hospital, The Trial will send chills down your spine and have you questioning everything! Mental health, manipulation and a deep look into the character’s psyche play a massive part in understanding this thriller… oh and I can’t leave out the goats…
A chilling prologue had me instantly glued to the pages. The concept was very cleverly constructed and it is clear from the start that all is NOT what it seems. I loved the unreliable narrator(s) and thought each of the characters, whether I liked them or not, played a role in making me want to read just one more chapter. If you enjoy books that have you scratching your head and wondering where the hell it is going… this book is a must read!
Your book was great!
