Oh my DAYS, have I got a treat for you! The Bookshop at the Cornish Cove by Kim Nash has everything you need if fun is what you are after.
The FMC, Nancy, is 27, who often feels a bit like an old soul— owns Books In The Bay, a little bookshop with BIG heart in the seaside fictional town of Driftwood Bay. When she meets Dennis, the handsome but infuriatingly stubborn nephew of the quirky Vi, it’s a classic case of will they/won’t they, with plenty of enemies to friends to enemies to lovers deliciousness! The chemistry between Nancy and Dennis is on point —and yes, it might just leave you shouting at the pages in true rom-com fashion, “JUST KISS ALREADY!”
No spoilers, but Kim Nash has absolutely nailed the perfect balance between sweet romance and light humour. There are laugh-out-loud moments (the banter between Nancy and Dennis is on point!), a sprinkle of miscommunication that keeps the tension high, and more than a few heart-tugging scenes that will leave you misty-eyed.
It’s not just the romance and setting that make this book special. Nash weaves in themes of personal growth, second chances, and the importance of following your dreams and your heart. And yes, there’s even a nod to conservation and sustainability, which gave the story a lovely, grounded feel.
And oh, that HEA ending… you’ll just have to read it yourself, but trust me, it’s the cherry on top of an already-perfect sundae.
Would I recommend this book? Absofrigginlutely! If you’re a fan of romances that are as heartwarming as they are hilarious, with a sprinkle of bookish magic and a seaside setting you’ll never want to leave, then The Bookshop at the Cornish Cove is an absolute must-read.
Kim Nash has crafted a story that’s sure to stay with you long after you turn the final page. A feel-good escape that’s perfect for the season—highly recommended!
