My #MiniReview

My thanks to Sabah Khan and Avon Books UK for an arc.

Set in Manchester, the reader is alongside former PC, now DC Lucy Clayburn in an action packed read that examines the past, family/relationships, violence, drugs, the criminal underworld, betrayal and an overwhelming desire for justice.

What an amazing, action-packed, adrenaline-pumping, fast paced, gritty and thrilling read! Can I get anymore adjectives in there!? Full of twists, a superb story-line, brilliant narrative and OMFG…the #Booms! You know what I love about fiction? It doesn’t have to be 100% believeable or perfect. If I wanted that in my crime fiction, I’d read police procedural manuals or true crime books! The author has a knack of bringing the pages to life and that is more than good enough for me!

Character-wise, we have the determined, tenacious, fierce and strong female lead in Lucy Clayburn. Love her! I am also loving the character development and how all the characters work seamlessly to make this story flow! Each adding that little bit to enhance the readers experience and enjoyment!

Would I recommend this read? ? Hmm…let’s see….it is tense, steely, emotive and hard to put down….so yeah, you bet your arse I would recommend it!! I personally think it can be read easily as a stand-alone, but if you’re unsure, read my review of Strangers HERE and judge for yourself!
